Mercury accumulation in bivalve molluscs in hydroecosystem of Red River estuary (Vietnam)

چکیده

The article presents analysis of mercury content in different tissues such as gills, mantle, hepatopancreas and body (leg) 4 species bivalve molluscs the estuary Red River Vietnam. studies were carried out 2016–2021 during main hydrological seasons (during summer flood winter low water) at 37 stations delta estuarine coast River. There are shown dependences mollusc on age parameters (length mass tissues) pollutant dissolved, suspended forms near-bottom water layers bottom sediments. varies whithin 0,023 ± 0,001 to 0,459 0,007 mg/kg wet weight. highest was found
Austriella corrugata, lowest - leg Lutraria rhynchaena. Significant close positive correlations registered between concentrations layer sediments (r from 0.68 0.92, p < 0.05). All studied classified macroconcentrators water; corrugata can actively accumulate not only water, but also Bivalve be used an object biomonitoring when studying distribution

Saxitoxin analysis in bivalve molluscs

Paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) is caused by consumption of a wide variety of shellfish which accumulated saxitoxins (STXs) from marine dinoflagellates (Alexandrium minutum, A. tamarense, Gymnodinium catenatum, Pyrodinium bahamense) and affect a wide variety of shellfish. There are about 20 saxitoxin analogs with closely related structures. A regulatory level of 0.8 mg/kg shellfish meat as ...

Viruses infecting bivalve molluscs

Bivalve molluscs are filter feeders and as a consequence they may bioaccumulate in their tissues viruses that infect humans and higher vertebrates. However, there have also been described mortalities of bivalve molluscs associated with viruses belonging to different families. Mass mortalities of adult Portuguese oysters, Crassostrea angulata, among French livestocks (between 1967 and 1973) were...

Behavior of mercury in the Patuxent River estuary

An overview of a comprehensive study of the behavior and fate of mercury in the estuarine Patuxent River is presented. Total Hg (HgT) and methylmercury (MeHg) exhibited weakly non-conservative behavior in the estuary. Total Hg concentrations ranged from 6 ng L 1 in the upper reaches of the sub-urbanized tidal freshwater river to <0.5 ng L 1 in the mesohaline lower estuary. Filterable (0.2 m) Hg...

Domoic acid analysis in bivalve molluscs

Domoic acid (DA) was identified as the toxin responsible for an outbreak of illness in Canada in 1987, caused by eating blue mussels that had accumulated DA as a result of the presence of Pseudo-nitzschia pungens. It is named amnesic shellfish poisoning (ASP). Since a regulatory level of 20 mg DA/kg of shellfish meat was established. The methods of determination of domoic acid are reviewed: bio...

Lanzavecchia mangrovi sp. n. (Nematoda, Dorylaimida) from mangroves of Red River Estuary, Vietnam.

A new nematode species found in the Red River Estuary of Vietnam is described. Lanzavecchia mangrovi sp. n. is morphologically close to L. coomansi Nicholas, Stewart, 1984, but differs in its longer body (L = 2.71-3.76 µm versus L = 2.2-2.9 µm), shorter spicules (63-65 mm versus 72-88), longer prerectum (500-675 mm versus 262-310 µm) and shorter distal portion of tail in relation to the proxima...
